RaidShell — Every Feature

The complete reference · a BeardedTortle app · open RaidShell →

Everything RaidShell does, split by who can do it. Written as a guide for making training videos — each feature says where it lives, what it does, how to get it on screen, and what will trip you up while recording.

1 · How access works

RaidShell has four levels of access, not three. The one people miss is that "moderator" splits in two: someone handed a mod code can moderate community content, but only the owner can create Pro keys, appoint other mods, broadcast announcements, or change the donate link.

TierWhoHow they get it
UserEveryone Just open the site. No account, no payment, no login.
ProSupporters Any monthly Ko-fi tip — even $1/mo. Claim by email, or redeem a PRO-XXXX-XXXX key.
ModAppointed moderators The owner generates a mod code; they paste it into 👤 → mod access.
OwnerBeardedTortle The master server token.

These are independent, not stacked. A Pro subscriber is not a mod. A mod is not Pro. Someone can be both, either, or neither. Only the owner token automatically includes everything a mod code grants.

Change the ❤ Donate link
Best single shot to show Mod vs Owner: the ❤ Donate link on the Mod tab. With a mod code the edit button isn't rendered at all — it just reads "· owner only". With the owner token, it's there. It's the one field in the whole app that points at real money, so it's deliberately the hardest-locked thing in it.
Where moderation actually happens. The Mod tab is a notification hub, not a do-everything screen. Most queues are actioned right there, but pending builds and pending tips are only counted on the Mod tab (look for the "↗") — they're approved on the Builds and Tips tabs. Don't film someone hunting for a button that was never there.

2 · The core raid loop User

This is the spine of the app and the natural shape for a video series: roll a map → see what quests are there → plan the raid → run it → log what happened.

Wheel — pick where you're going

🗺 Map / 🎲 Gear switch

Two chips at the top of the Wheel tab

This tab rolls two different things — a map for tonight's raid, or a full loadout. The switch picks which one you're looking at; only one shows at a time, and your choice is remembered between visits.

Gotcha: the topbar "Deploy to <Map>" button stays visible in both modes, because roll map → roll gear → deploy is a normal order to do things in.

Spin the wheel · Map mode

Wheel tab → Spin

Picks a random map, weighted by your settings, with a ~5 second animated spin.

Gotcha: if every map is disabled or weighted zero the button is disabled with a hint explaining why.

Map pool settings

Enable or disable each map and give it a weight from 0–100. The percentage shown is that map's share of the total enabled weight.

Gotcha: weights are relative — they don't need to total 100. Setting two maps to 50 each is identical to setting both to 1.

Deploy to <Map>

Topbar, right side, Wheel tab only — replaces "AWAITING ORDERS" after a roll

One click starts a raid on the rolled map straight away, using your saved quest picks, and jumps to the Map tab. No planning screen in between.

Gotcha: if a raid is already running on that same map, clicking resumes it instead of wiping it — a double-click can't destroy a raid in progress.

Map quests panel

Appears beside the wheel after a roll

Everything waiting for you on the rolled map: a quest count, ★ goal and ✦ Kappa badges, expandable objectives, an "above your level" section, and a checkbox per quest to set it aside (which also drops it from the map route).

Two panels here are the ones that save raids:

Quests — track what you're doing

Filtering

A search box, a Show dropdown (All / Available / Locked / Completed / Locked out / Event-ish / Hidden), and scope chips (All / ★ My goals / ✦ Kappa / 💡 Lightkeeper). They all stack. Faction and level fields drive what counts as available.

Gotcha: "★ My goals" only appears once you've set a goal. "Event-ish" is an educated guess — the data source has no event flag, and it's labelled as a best guess in the app.

Quest rows and objectives

Tick to complete, to expand objectives, name links to the wiki. Badges show partial progress, "locked out" (you took the alternative), ★ goal, ✦ Kappa, level requirement in red if you're under it, and the map. hides quests you'll never do.

Ticking the last required objective auto-completes the quest.

Completed section

Finished quests fold into a collapsed "✓ Completed" section so your working list stays short. Untick one to bring it back.

Gotcha: only exists on "Show: All". Searching auto-opens it so matches aren't hidden from you.

📷 Import from screenshot Free Better on Pro

Quests tab → 📷 Import from screenshot

Screenshot your in-game Tasks screen and AI marks your completed quests in seconds instead of you ticking hundreds of boxes. The single biggest time-saver in the app — it deserves its own video.

How to demo
  1. Click 📷 Import from screenshot
  2. Drop, browse, or Ctrl+V paste one or more Tasks-screen shots (two real examples are shown in the modal so people know what a good one looks like)
  3. Wait for "Reading your screenshots with AI vision…"
  4. Check the inferred level, and tick "these screenshots show my whole active list" to enable the smarter inference
  5. Review, then Apply

How the inference works — worth explaining on camera, because it's what makes the feature feel like magic. Two rules: anything that's a prerequisite of a quest you currently have active must already be done. And if you confirm the screenshots show your whole list, then a quest missing from it — unlocked at your level, prerequisites met — must also be done.

Say this out loud in the video. Guessed completions land in a "finished chains (best guess)" group where every quest has its own checkbox, so you can untick anything you haven't actually done. That's the safety net for the one feature that could otherwise quietly get your progress wrong. Event quests are never guessed as complete, since they're missing only because the event is off.

Gotcha: a bad screenshot gives a friendly "couldn't read any quests" screen with tips, not an error.

Backup, restore, export, reset

Quests tab meta row

Export list gives a readable text file of your available quests grouped by trader — handy to keep on a second monitor. Backup gives a re-importable file of everything. Restore reads one back. ↺ Reset progress wipes quest progress only, keeping your profile, goals and cloud code.

Gotcha: restore only writes keys it recognises, so a hand-edited file can't inject anything unexpected.

🎬 Quest guides

Expand any quest → below its objectives

Community video guides for that exact quest — click-to-load YouTube and TikTok embeds (nothing streams until you click), creator credit linking to their channel, votes, and a paste-a-link form to add one. Also shows 🔫 builds for this quest if anyone tagged one, and creator search chips that open a channel search pre-filled with the quest name.

We make none of this content — credit always goes to the creator, and attribution is fetched from the platform so a submitter can't fake it.

Demo tip: "A Shooter Born in Heaven" and the Test Drive quests already have real seeded guides — use one of those rather than relying on luck.

Pre-raid brief — plan before you load in

What the Map tab shows before a raid exists. Pick the map, name the operation, choose a focus (All / Quests / Loot / PVP — this decides which route you get suggested), and optionally pre-pick your exit.

Then the picker: one searchable list mixing your available quests with map locations — 📍 landmarks, ⚠ hot zones, 🏷 community spots, 📦 loot, 👑 bosses. Tick quests to work on and locations to route through.

Three ways out: ▶ Start raid (your picks), ⚡ Quick start (all quests, ignores your unchecks), 🔍 Review the map (open it with no raid attached, just to plan or annotate).

Gotchas: the "all/none" buttons act on what's currently filtered, not the whole list. Location picks reset when you change map. And only objectives with known coordinates can pin, so the preview's pin count often looks lower than the quest count — that's the data, not a bug.

Map — the raid map

The largest feature area in the app. This is several videos, not one.

Moving around

Picking your spawn

Click a red PMC dot, or pick from the sidebar list. A gold "YOU SPAWNED HERE" beacon marks it, and the route builds from there.

Nice touch worth showing: hovering near a spawn highlights it, and clicking near one picks it — you don't have to hit the dot. If two are equally close you get a "Which spawn?" chooser instead of a wrong guess.

Suggested routes

The app proposes routes — quest, PVP, 💰 loot, or 👑 boss hunt — with numbered stops, leg distances, floor-change chips ("⬆ head up — Dorms · 2nd Floor"), danger warnings, and a recommended extract. A 📏 shortest ↔ 〰 smooth toggle trades a little distance for fewer doubling-back U-turns.

The framing that matters. These are suggestions, not instructions. Every route header carries a "suggested" tag and two buttons: ✓ use & edit (copy it into your own editable route) and 🔀 combine (merge it into what you've already drawn, keeping your stops). This philosophy — the app proposes, the player decides — deserves its own beat in the video.

Per-row you can skip an objective, assign it to a teammate, drag to reorder, and tick each stop off as you reach it.

The extract row shows requirements (needs a switch, costs 20,000₽, timed, faction), community evidence ("✅ used 12 times", "⚠ reported closed"), clickable alternatives, and a full dropdown of every non-scav exit — including ones the ranking hid, like green-flare exits. Changing it asks a one-tap "why?" that feeds back into the recommendations.

✏ Your own route

Control bar → ✏ my route (needs a spawn first)

Every map click drops a numbered stop — inserted at the smartest point along your path, not blindly on the end. Drag stops to move them, double-click to rename, and tag each as 📍 waypoint, 💰 loot, or ⚔ PVP fight. A guide card tracks live route length with ↶ undo stop and ✓ done drawing. Saved per map and restored when you return.

Bonus: pressing H while hovering the map drops an "I'm here" stop tagged with your name. Cap is 30 stops.

🌍 Community routes

Routes other players shared for this map — vote counts, the stop-type mix, which spawn they start from, and ▶ load. Loading over your own route asks twice. You can publish yours with 📤 share with community, or send it to the mod queue to be rated with 💾 save this route for review.

Layers, floors and map art

Toggle every marker type: PMC and scav spawns, extracts, loot (with a category filter), 🔑 key doors (the tooltip names the key you need), ◆ quest objectives, ☠ deaths, red hot-zone danger areas, 👑 bosses, landmarks, 📍 your own markers, 💡 tips.

Multi-floor maps get a floor selector. On Customs and Labs, picking a floor also swaps the underlying picture; on other maps it filters markers only. Some maps also offer 🎨 RE3MR 3D art as an alternate style, and interior reference guides like 🏢 Dorms.

Worth stating on camera: extracts and quest objectives are never hidden by the floor filter. You should never lose sight of your exit or your target. Everything else is filtered.

Right-click menu

Grouped and context-aware: ⚡ squad pings · 🚪 set your planned extract · 📍 report (died here / name this spot / add a tip / suggest a legend fix) · ➕ add a route stop · 🧹 clear pings · 📌 add a personal marker (12 types) · 🏢 floor.

📌 Personal markers

Drop your own typed marker with a note — "usually camped", "needs blue keycard". A dashed ring means "mine, not game data". Double-click to remove.

Deliberately private. A hand-placed "extract" must never mislead someone else's map.

Community map contributions

🏷 Name a spot adds a shared named pin. 💡 Location tips attach short advice to a place (8 categories, optional video). 🔧 Suggest a legend fix lets you say "this marker is in the wrong place" — pick it from a closest-first list, click where it actually is, and once a mod approves, it moves for everyone.

All of these are mod-reviewed before going public. Pending ones show dashed with a ⏳ — visible to you, not to everyone else.

📡 Squad briefings

"📡 Squad up — share this plan" mints a link and copies it. Anyone who opens it joins your live plan — spawn, route, drawings and pings all sync both ways.

The panel shows the link, member chips coloured by join order, a 🎒 found-in-raid help list of what each teammate still needs, a squad-raid log, and buttons to end the squad raid or leave.

Gotcha: briefing links expire after 24 hours.

Squad pings

All placed by clicking the map, all self-expiring, all visible to the whole squad.

PingButtonLives for
👁 Enemy spotted👁 Enemy spotted3 minutes
⚔ Kill⚔ I killed here3 minutes
📍 Teammate location📍 Mark teammate → live location5 minutes
☠ Teammate down📍 Mark teammate → went down45 minutes
🎁 Loot drop🎁 Drop loot45 minutes

🎁 Drop loot is the clever one. When you drop something for a teammate, the quick-pick chips are built from their actual published found-in-raid needs — "Salewa — for Bob". They tap the marker to collect it and it clears for the whole squad.

Pings visibly age on the map — fresh, then aging, then stale — with a countdown, so nobody chases three-minute-old intel.

🏁 End raid

A five-step wizard that turns a finished raid into tracked progress:

The five steps
  1. Outcome — extracted or died
  2. Which extract, or mark where you died (the map stays clickable with a pulsing ring showing you where to click — no dimming overlay in the way)
  3. Combat — any kills? PVP fight? what killed you?
  4. Objectives — tick what you actually finished; it checks them off your real tracker
  5. Recap — outcome, stats, ★ goal hits, what you knocked out, your squad, "do next" suggestions, and a notes field

The recap closes with 🎬 add clips & build, 🔗 copy recap (clipboard text for Discord), and done → new raid. There's also 🏁 End squad raid, which logs one shared record and wipes the shared map for everyone.

Everything else on the map

Goals

Pick an end goal — Kappa, Lightkeeper, any barter or craft unlock, or your next Prestige — and get a progress bar, "do next" quest chips, and an expandable list of everything remaining.

Prestige is sequential. Your next tier shows as active with a level bar and a requirements checklist; later tiers show 🔒 "unlocks after Prestige N‑1" with no fake progress bar. The picker only ever offers the next tier, so you can't queue Prestige 6 from rank 0.

Goal quests get a ★ badge everywhere else in the app and sort first.

📜 Raid history

Brief screen → 📜 Past raids

Every finished raid — outcome, map, objectives done, ★ goal hits, clip count, squad size, date. Open one for a static route map of that raid drawn on the real map art, plus what you knocked out and who you ran with.

Per raid you can attach clips (Twitch clips, Medal, TikTok), link the gun build you ran, add notes, share it to the community feed, or delete it.

Gotcha: raid history is local to that device — it doesn't cloud sync today.

3 · Planning & inventory User

Items — your shopping list

Answers "what do I actually need to pick up?" It merges every incomplete quest hand-in with every un-built hideout level, subtracts what you already have, and gives you one list.

The key split is ⚠ must find in raid vs 🛒 can buy / barter — the single most useful distinction when deciding what's worth risking a raid for. Expand any item to see exactly which quests and hideout levels want it.

Each row has have-counters (+ / − / ✓) so you can track what you've collected; satisfied items drop off the list. Buyable items show a rough flea price.

Hideout view

Every station and level with its materials and rouble cost. Tick a level once built and its materials leave your needs list.

Gotcha: levels cascade — ticking level 3 auto-ticks 1 and 2; unticking level 1 clears 2 and 3, matching how the game actually works. And if your game edition came with a pre-upgraded stash, those levels are marked built automatically so you're never told to farm materials you never needed.

📷 Scan stash Free Better on Pro

Items tab → 📷 Scan stash

Upload, drag or paste a screenshot of your stash, container, backpack or item case. AI reads the item names and the found-in-raid marks, matches them against your needs list, and shows a review screen — nothing is saved until you confirm.

The safety detail worth showing. If a quest needs a found-in-raid copy but the scan didn't see the FIR mark on your item, that row is deliberately pre-unchecked. You have to confirm it yourself. The app would rather make you tick one box than quietly tell you you're done when you aren't.

Free scans come from a shared daily pool; when it's used up there's a "request extended quota" button that messages the mods. You can also paste your own OpenAI key, which never touches RaidShell's server.

Endings — the main story

Tracks Tarkov 1.0's story line — the shared prologue plus four endings (Survivor, Savior, Debtor, Fallen) — as checkable step lists with a progress bar per path. Separate from the Quests tab, which handles everything else.

Steps carry warning chips: ⚠ point of no return, 🏆 achievement, 🎗 optional, 🚪 escape run, 🔧 mandatory build. The point-of-no-return flags are the reason this tab exists — call them out on camera.

Be honest about this one: the data is hand-encoded from a community flowchart, not from an API, and it's labelled a best guess in-app. Present it that way.

4 · Community & content User

Builds — gun builds

Submit a build with a kit photo and a weapon-stats screenshot, or let 🤖 scan with AI read the weapon, attachments and all ten stats off the screenshot for you. Filter by Tarkov / Arena and All / My builds / Community.

⚙ Live builder appears once your typed weapon matches a real gun: it recomputes ergonomics and recoil live as you add attachments, using the real in-game formula.

Cards carry a hover-flip hero image, votes, comments, 🔗 share (a permanent link straight to that card), 💰 cost estimate (flea vs cheapest, plus which trader levels you'd need), 🔧 tinker (a non-destructive "what if" panel showing live stat deltas), 🎬 clips of this build, and 🚩 stats wrong? to report bad data.

Gotchas: Arena builds require a class; Tarkov builds have no class field and group by weapon category. Slot compatibility isn't enforced in the live builder. Builds submitted with an unverified image go to mod review rather than appearing publicly.

🎲 Random kit generator

Film this on the Wheel tab under 🎲 Gear, not the Builds tab. It's easy to look for it in the wrong place.

Rolls a full random loadout — weapon, armour, rig, helmet, headset, backpack — from the real item catalogue, with a budget filter, weapon-type filter, per-slot 🔒 locks so a reroll keeps what you liked, and a running cost estimate. Lists community builds for whatever it rolled.

A helmet that blocks headsets auto-drops the headset. If the upstream data source is down, prices hide themselves rather than show numbers that aren't trustworthy.

Clips

Three views: 🎬 Highlights, ☠ Deaths, and 🚩 Sus reports. The first two are the same community feed split by outcome — see great plays, or see how people died and what kit they ran. Cards show the map, extract, the gun build used, votes and comments.

Clips originate in Raid History → 📣 share for feedback, not on this tab, and are mod-reviewed before appearing.

🚩 Sus reports — read before filming. This is a private channel for reporting a suspected cheater to the mods: their name, a clip as evidence, a reason. It is not a public accusation board. Anyone can submit a report, but nobody can see any reports — including their own. Only mods can. This is a deliberate anti-witch-hunt design, and it's worth saying out loud, because people will assume it works the other way.

Arena

Scoped to Blastgang, the 5v5 mode. Pick a map to get a pan-and-zoom overhead with callouts pinned on it — name a spot, pin it, and clicking a callout card jumps the map to it.

💣 Nade lineups use two-click placement: click where you stand, click where it lands, and the throw line is drawn on the map. Add the type (smoke / flash / frag / molotov), instructions, an optional video and an aim-point screenshot.

Video creator credit is fetched automatically from the platform — a submitter cannot fake attribution. Non-mod callouts go to review first.

Tips

Two kinds of content: 🎬 tip videos (click-to-load, nothing streams until you click) and written tips grouped by category — gunfights, ammo, sound, positioning, survival, mindset. Anyone can suggest a video by pasting a link; it goes to mod review. "⭐ featured" videos are hand-picked and sort first.

Creators

Curated creator cards — 🔥 The Forge, 💛 streamers I love to watch, 🎯 creators I learned from, plus the mod team and a cross-promo grid of BeardedTortle's other apps. Hovering a card reveals their socials. Live status is polled every minute, and anyone live gets a glowing ● LIVE badge with their stream playing inline.

Escape from Tarkov streams can never autoplay. Twitch automatically applies a mature-content label to every EFT stream, which forces a manual click-through before video plays. This is a Twitch platform rule, it applies to every Tarkov streamer regardless of their own settings, and it cannot be worked around. Non-Tarkov content autoplays fine. Don't promise autoplay on camera.

Profiles

Look up a player by account ID for an in-app card — level, prestige, K/D, survival rate, kills, raids, achievements — plus a sus % heuristic with its reasoning.

Keep the framing. The sus score is always labelled "not proof" in the app. It's a guess from public stats, and it should be presented that way in any video. Name search deliberately link-outs to tarkov.dev rather than scraping their protected search — a "we play fair with our data sources" point worth making.

5 · Cross-cutting systems User

Profile & onboarding

Auto-opens on first visit; reopen anytime via the 👤 chip. Sets your name, level, faction, prestige and game edition, and hosts cloud sync, Pro redemption and mod access.

☁ Cloud save and 🟣 Sign in with Twitch

Creates a code that is the account — no email, no password. Auto-saves when something changes. Signing in with Twitch attaches that code to your Twitch account so you can never lose it.

Travels between devices: profile, quest and objective progress, goals, item counts, hideout progress, endings, your community identity, and your mod token and Pro key. Deliberately doesn't travel: your personal OpenAI key — that's a secret and stays put.

Gotcha: whoever holds the code owns the save. Treat it like a password. If a device's code and the account's code differ you get a conflict picker rather than one silently overwriting the other.

💡 Feedback widget

A floating button on every tab, in two modes — 💡 suggestion or 🚩 something's wrong — auto-tagged with whichever tab you were on, with an optional screenshot. Shows your own ticket history with status and a reply thread, so you and a mod can go back and forth without opening new tickets. The icon badges when a mod has responded.

📢 Announcements & polls

A dismissible bar under the topbar carrying messages from the owner, targeted at all users, mods, or Pro subscribers. Can include a 2–6 option poll with live result bars.

🎓 Guided tour and ❔ page tours

🎓 runs the full walkthrough, switching tabs for you and spotlighting each feature. ❔ runs a short tour of just the tab you're on.

Gotcha: the spotlight takes about half a second to settle on each step — don't cut too fast between steps when editing.

Drag, drop or paste — anywhere

Every screenshot upload in the app — quest import, stash scan, spawn photos, build images, arena maps, nade lineups — accepts click-to-browse, drag-and-drop, or Ctrl+V paste. Worth demonstrating once; most people never try pasting.

6 · Pro Pro

Core RaidShell is free forever. Pro is additive — it never takes away something that used to be free. There are exactly four benefits.

Getting Pro

Any monthly Ko-fi tip qualifies, even $1/mo — there's no separate membership tier to buy. Two ways to activate: claim by email (paste the email you used on Ko-fi — the server matches a one-way hash of it, never the address itself), or redeem a key.

1 · 📺 OBS stream overlay — the flagship

A transparent OBS browser source showing your live raid state: a live map with your route and squad pings drawn on it, your next steps and extract, boss and danger chips, quest and goal progress, your squad with their found-in-raid needs, and a wheel popup that spins live on stream and flashes your deploy result.

The Overlay Studio is a real drag-and-drop editor — seven theme presets, custom accent colour, opacity, corner radius, text size, per-widget on/off and positioning, live preview, and auto-save. You get one canvas URL or one URL per widget, and the links are permanent: the design lives on the server, so redesigning never breaks your OBS source.

Security point worth making on camera: the overlay URL carries a separate, rotatable token — not your Pro key. Streamers show their screens, so a leaked overlay link only exposes what was already on stream, and it can never grant Pro access to anyone.

Gotcha: after RaidShell updates the overlay page itself, existing OBS sources need one manual right-click → "Refresh cache of current page". OBS caches page code.

2 · 🤖 Sharper AI scans

Free users share a community daily pool on a lighter model. Pro users get the full model, their own 100 scans a day, and are exempt from the shared pool — so you're never blocked because the community used up the day's scans.

Pro users who hit their own cap get a plain "slow down" message. Paying supporters are never auto-suspended.

3 · ⭐ Queue priority

Anything a Pro user submits is sorted to the top of every moderation queue.

4 · Clean screen

Free users get a small corner Twitch player when a Forge crew member goes live. Pro users simply never see it.

7 · Moderators Mod

Mods get a 🛡 Mod tab. It only appears when a valid token is stored — pasting gibberish is silently discarded, so no moderator interface leaks to someone guessing.
